I dont know when was the last time i heard of a person being punished because he or she had influential family connections. may be this is a new punishable offence. i was stunned when i heard a media anchor person on DAWN News channel advoc…ating strong measures against the DPO sialkot only because he is the son in law of rpo rawalpindi. he was of the view that because no csp officer has ever been punished, this time we must act. BUT FOR WHAT?
The anchor person pointed several times that these lynching crimes were common in gujranwala but never even once realized that the issue here is not gujranwala right now but sialkot.
he noted again and again that police officers are usually involved in fake encounters but could not mention even a single in which waqar chohan was involved. so the respected gentleman was trying to imply or was implying that just because there are corrupt policemen in this country and fake encounters and extra judicial killings, we must hurry up and act and punish a person with crystal record, with no previous history of any wrongdoing just to show the public that we can act even against those who have strong family connections. and we are a nation of principles.
BUT
Even more shocking is the fact that the alleged fugitive murderer shams ali who appeared on geo tv last week and accused the dpo of ordering to kill the two brothers (in dono bhaio ko mar do hum is ko police muqabla karar day daingay) is nowhere 2 be found. his name is not even in the list of the 18 culprits. so was he hired by geo tv to accuse the dpo and disappear. I can say this BECAUSE rana sanaullah in the above mentioned Dawn news program stated that the initial report from dpo and rpo had no mention of a police encounter it was about lynching of two brothers by a mob who thought thay were dacoits. if he was the one who ordered the man to kill the boys, y didnt he take any credit for the police encounter in the initial report. BECAUSE he never supported lynchings under his jurisdiction. this is the one thing media would never let come out.. but i would bring it forward again and again and AGAIN….. BECAUSE if we let them do this to one honest officer they will do this again and again and again . MEDIA MUST SHUT UP AND ONLY FULFIL ITS RESPONSIBILITY OF SHOWING THE PUBLIC ALL SIDES OF THE STORY… LET THE COURTS WORK ON THE TRIALS WITH ALL THE EVIDENCE RATHER THAN THE HALF TRUTHS PRESENTED BY THE MEDIA.

Eye for Eye and Tooth for Tooth

A Pakistan Army delegation called off its trip to CENTCOM U.S.A, when the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Dulles airport Washington reportedly mistreated them humiliatingly. The high ranking delegation was there at the invitation of the U.S. government, but the TSA paying no heed to their status or the official invitation treated them like a bunch of terrorists during their interrogation. Though later the U.S. government and the TSA apologised for their insulting behaviour but enough was enough and the delegation was called back by the Pak authorities.

Is calling off the official visit enough for such a humiliation? Why not eye for eye and tooth for tooth? Invite a similar high ranking U.S. army delegation to Pakistan and serve them with the same sour soup. Only then the coward Yanks would know their true worth.

Why do political parties members in Pakistan accept that it is normal for senior people to promote their relatives.

What right has Zaerdari to put his 21 year young son into co Chairmanship of the PPP party. Why do ordinary PPP members accept it. This is why we in Pakistan contneu to have rubbish leaders.

I look forward to the day a daughter or a son of an ordinary poor pakistani becomes president.

History shows that that greatest of all leaders around the world comes from the common person. It is about the time Pakistanis have learnt this.

The PML-N-led Punjab government is a one-man show being run by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. One of the many criticisms leveled against him is that he does not feel the need to call cabinet meetings. Some would say his autocratic style of governance has crippled the bureaucracy. Also, his populist Sasti Roti Scheme has depleted the Punjab government exchequer. It was a flawed scheme much like Nawaz Sharif’s Yellow Cab Scheme of yesteryear. Such misadventures do not galvanize the masses or their confidence. At a time when the world is feeling the effects of global recession, the PML-N should not indulge in such follies. Punjab is larger than some countries in the world and it needs even better governance at a time of economic uncertainty. Recently an independent candidate, Ijaz Kahlon, defeated Tabraiz Gill of the PML-N with the support of other political parties and former member(s) of the PML-N. No major claims of rigging emanated from this constituency. If any rigging did take place, the PML-N candidate would have been expected to gain since his party is in power in the province. Punjab in recent years has been considered as a PML-N stronghold but the recent defeat is big blow for the PML-N speaking about the volume of its so called popularity.
